Our foundation

Purpose with a long view.

01 / Mission

What we build.

To build the enterprise ecosystem and institutional bridge that unlocks generational economic power for African-rooted founders.

02 / Vision

Where we are going.

To be the definitive economic infrastructure through which the African diaspora builds, finances, and scales enterprise, starting in Canada, leading globally.

Our ethos

We are not waiting for a seat at the table, whether in the boardroom, across the marketplace, or behind the doors we open ourselves. We build the table. We own the equity. And we open the room to everyone building alongside us.

Our story

The shift from venture to infrastructure.

FilAfrik began in 2020 at the ground level. What launched as a targeted retail venture surfaced a structural market failure: African diaspora entrepreneurs across Southwestern Ontario were building viable enterprises in a vacuum, cut off from institutional capital, corporate supply chains, and municipal support.

FilAfrik evolved to solve that systemic gap. We transitioned from a single commercial venture into a dual-sided economic platform that scales grassroots founders while serving as the contracting gateway for institutions seeking access to this high-growth ecosystem.

How the work takes shape

Four ways we open the room.

Today, that vision operates across four distinct institutional engines.

LIFT Business Summit

Our flagship business summit, held every year since 2024, bringing founders, professionals, partners and government representatives into one room.

02

Founders Breakfast

03

He directs FilAfrik’s corporate strategy, government relations, and institutional partnerships, establishing the framework through which public agencies and corporations contract directly with minority-owned enterprises.

Patrick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Marketing Management from Eastern Mediterranean University. He is completing his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business and serves as Vice President of the Nigerian Association of London and Area (NALA).

“I arrived in Canada looking for an environment where African and Black entrepreneurs were engaged as commercial builders rather than corporate checkboxes. That infrastructure did not exist, so we built it. FilAfrik is that room, an unapologetic commercial engine designed to create lasting wealth and open doors for every enterprise ready to scale.”Patrick Dinneya
