Voices from the Table: Founders Breakfast, Edition 1
Our first Founders Breakfast put founders and a Member of Provincial Parliament at the same table. Here is what we heard.

On April 11, 2026, FilAfrik hosted the first Founders Breakfast at Residence Inn by Marriott in Downtown London. A room booked for 20 welcomed 34 founders, bringing more than eight industries into one conversation.
The idea was simple: take the honest conversation that happens over coffee and give it a morning of its own. Founders introduced their businesses, shared what they needed and listened for ways to help each other.
A smaller table, a more open conversation
The inaugural breakfast gave founders space to talk about finding customers, accessing capital and making time to work on their businesses. MPP Peggy Sattler joined the room to hear those experiences directly.
This was a different kind of gathering from a full-day summit. Rather than moving quickly between sessions, founders could stay with a question, learn who else had faced it and make an introduction before leaving.
Turning an introduction into a commitment
The morning closed with the Founders Pledge: a commitment to buy from one another, make referrals and follow through on the relationships formed in the room. The point was to give the conversation a practical next step.
FilAfrik gathered the themes into a public event report so the learning could travel beyond the breakfast table. The report records the first edition and the beginning of a continuing series.
